Had to go to MyPlayCity, download their version, complete phone part of game, close MyPlayCity version and reopen GGOTD version to continue quest. So for, so good. Definitely a software download issue on GGOTD part, not a hardware issue.

I'm having the same problem. I've downloaded the game three times and am unable to get past the phone problem.

Cannot click READ in first scene either. Tried lower quality graphic option and clicking "READ" again but no luck. Cannot proceed in game.

If you are stuck at the cell phone you can download the demo from bigfish play pass it and then go back to the game in the Games foder
